Fahmi Alghussein is a veteran investment banking executive with over 30 years of leadership experience spanning the GCC, Europe, and North America. He has held senior roles at global institutions such as Credit Suisse Asset Management, Morgan Stanley, Citibank, and HSBC, with a strong track record in treasury, capital markets, and asset management.
Fahmi has advised sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, and family offices, and played a central role in financial restructurings, product innovations, and cross-border M&A transactions. As CEO of Aventicum Capital Management (a joint venture between Qatar Investment Authority and Credit Suisse), he successfully integrated Amwal’s operations, expanded its investment offerings, and led strategic distribution efforts across global platforms.
His previous leadership at Amwal LLC saw the launch of Qatar’s first UCITS-compliant GCC fund and the nation’s first conventional ETF, cementing his role as a pioneer in regional capital markets. He also led Morgan Stanley’s Middle East equities platform and established Citigroup’s MENA equities and derivatives business.
Fahmi is known for his strategic foresight, client-centric approach, and deep understanding of the GCC financial ecosystem. He holds a BA in Political Science & International Relations from Concordia University in Canada.
Samer Abuaker is a distinguished asset management and investment executive with over 25 years of experience across global markets. As former CEO of SEDCO Capital, he led the firm’s transformation, doubling assets under management from $5 billion to over $9 billion and expanding its global footprint across real estate, private equity, and listed markets.
Samer has held senior leadership roles at premier institutions including Bank of New York, Royal Bank of Canada, and Abu Dhabi Investment House. He served as Chairman of SEDCO Capital’s SICAV UCITS Global Funds in Luxembourg and Managing Director of SEDCO Management Ltd. (DIFC), positioning the firm as a leader in ethical and Islamic investing.
Most recently, as Advisor to the Chairman at SIDRA Capital, he spearheaded restructuring efforts and contributed to strategic repositioning at the board level. His expertise spans investment strategy, M&A, governance, and regulatory engagement.
